Ongoing project. Problem with candid photography is that you only really get one chance at a picture. The focus here is iffy, and my work on the background a bit heavy handed. But I love the eye-contact, the welcome given to the photo. Need to work on this.
Any opinions on whether it's better colour or toned?

I like the colour version better. Where the light has caught the girl’s face, it appears (to me) to be slightly too washed-out or bright on the black-and-white one: almost as if a flash had been used. Also I like the colours in the girl’s clothes which seem to suit her. The confidence and eye contact sort of suggest a colourful character, if that makes any sense.
The only thing I would say is that there are some quite heavily saturated reds and greens in the background and decreasing these, slightly, might help focus more attention on the subject?
I thoroughly agree with your coments, though: it does appear that the opportunity to “model” was welcome and the eye contact creates an engaging picture.
That's a very useful observation, CM! I might well give it a go.
