Originally a fighter-reconaissance variant - hence the camera nose. However, the scoop on its back was acquired later when it was used as a test-bed for engines for the Shorts SC1 (a VTOL demonstrator research aircraft). Otherwise, of all the Meteors here, this looks most like the original configuration.
