Madam's Toothy Grin

(c)2006 Jon Pumpkin

Again, there's the danger of this photo being interpreted as laughing at the subject. Nothing could be further from the truth. Both my wife and I were struck by her beaming happy face and smile. I wish the picture had been better - lousy light and a not brilliant idea of using the camera's enhanced zoom. Don't bother, unless you're going to use the whole shot. EZ just makes details ... well, bad.

I am always impressed by your photos, Mr Pumpkin: wonderful light, colour, framing, juxtaposition, etc.

This one is proof that a photo doesn’t have to be visually dazzling to be pleasing. The sheer sense of joy and exuberance that comes through in this photograph is wonderful. I find that smiling, like laughter can be infectious.
