Lift

Hastings is a seaside/fishing town on the south coast of Britain. This is one of two funicular railway public lifting systems in Hastings, and was constructed in 1903. It is the steepest funicular railway in England and takes passengers from sea level down near the old fishing quarter (all old black wood slat buildings and sheds converted from bits of old boats - very Charles Dickens!) to the top of East Hill and the edge of Hastings Country Park.
