Toning Exercises

(c)2006 Jon Pumpkin Beach Huts
This was taken with a view to doing a monochrome version with some kind of toning. Adobe Elements 4,0 doesn't seem to support tritoning, so I mucked about with an approximating technique. Created one b/w background layer, and a yellow layer and a blue layer. Used a soft light blending mode, and adjusted using opacity. I quite liked the effect, so tried it on anpther monochrome experiment that hadn't really worked, viz:

And got this:

Which is still pretty lame, but closer to what I was hoping for from this picture.

Water In My Shoe

(c)2006 Jon Pumpkin
Problematic picture. It's shot at a high ISO (200) which on this camera leaves the image very grainy. Not helped by the slower than usual speed. That makes adjusting it difficult. Unless the image is kept very small, the quality doesn't really support cropping to the figure. In this format, I'd rather she was in the left third, but the background doesn't support it, and (as said) the figure isn't really good enough to extract.
Ah well. Can't have everything.

F-100 Super Sabre. I think. I mean, something suggests it might be. Like the name plastered on the nose cover ...

Miscellany

Merry-Go-Rounds and funfair rides are aways interesting, whether they are being used, or whether they are standing empty. Being a bit of a pessimist (or misery) in some respects I prefer the latter. The fantasist bit likes the idea of these temporarily restrained creatures that have hidden lives. What do they do at night? What do they say when people aren't looking?
This is a horse at dymchurch.
